Detailed Itinerary
Arrive at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station and transfer to Bhalukpong (252 km / 5-6 hours). Explore the beautiful natural surroundings and visit the local Orchid Research Centre. Check in to the hotel and stay overnight at Bhalukpong.
After breakfast, drive to Dirang (140 km / 5-6 hours). En route, visit the Tipi Orchidarium and enjoy scenic mountain views. Upon arrival, visit Dirang Dzong and relaxing hot water springs. Overnight stay in Dirang.
Proceed to Tawang (130 km / 5-6 hours) via the stunning Sela Pass at an altitude of 13,700 ft. En route, pay tribute at the Jaswant Garh War Memorial and marvel at the cascading Nuranang Falls. Reach Tawang and check in for an overnight stay.
Explore the historic Tawang Monastery, one of the largest Buddhist monasteries in India, and explore local markets. Later, head out to visit the peaceful and picturesque Madhuri Lake (Pankang Teng Tso). Overnight stay in Tawang.
Take an adventurous day trip to the Indo-China border at Bum La Pass (37 km / 1.5 hours), situated at 15,200 ft. Explore the high-altitude surroundings and return to Tawang by afternoon. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Tawang.
Drive back from Tawang towards Bomdila (180 km / 6-7 hours). En route and upon arrival, visit the Bomdila Monastery and local handicraft markets. Enjoy a relaxing evening amidst the hills. Overnight stay in Bomdila.
After breakfast, check out and drive back to Guwahati via Tezpur (334 km / 7-8 hours). Arrive in Guwahati by evening for your onward flight or train home, carrying unforgettable memories of the Land of the Rising Sun.
